Insurance for California Flooring & tile contractors

Installation work and project supervision are different exposures. Your policy should be reviewed against both if you do both.

Installation, waterproofing, and subcontracting

Separate flooring, tile, stone, showers, waterproofing, demolition, and countertop work. Include residential and commercial projects.

If most work is subcontracted but your crew also installs materials, disclose that split. A supervision-only description should not replace self-performed work.

Flooring and tile coverage restrictions

  • Waterproofing and resulting water damage.
  • Classification or designated-work restrictions.
  • Defective work versus resulting damage.
  • Subcontractor warranties and completed work.

Tile, waterproofing, and completed work

A shower or waterproofing failure can damage rooms beyond the installation. Review resulting damage and completed operations separately from the cost of replacing faulty tile or waterproofing work itself.

If your employees install some jobs while subcontractors perform others, disclose both percentages. Check classification limitations and subcontractor conditions so the proposal reflects installation as well as supervision.
